We are looking for the last 50 healthy participants to participate in our new study. Recruitment has started. Please sign up now, if you are interested. Participation is possible in November or December 2023. For more information, please read the complete text below.

After our successful light study in 2021 in which we demonstrated beneficial effects of near-infrared (NIR) light on well-being and health and published a paper about this (pdf), we are continuing with a follow-up study this year. This time we will also look at the mechanisms behind the effects of NIR light. The study is again sponsored by Seaborough and is in collaboration with the Chronobiology Department of the University of Groningen. Sign up now as a participant!

We are currently working hard to recruit the last 50 healthy participants who have sleepiness or mood symptoms. You must be willing to sit behind a lamp with near-infrared light for two consecutive weeks, five mornings per week. Amongst other things, mood, well-being, sleep quality and the immune system will be assessed. You will also be wearing a Fitbit smartwatch to measure certain effects. Upon completion and submission of all data, you will receive a compensation of 500 euros. Furthermore, after submitting complete data sets, where all instructions have been followed properly, you will receive a bonus payment of 200 euros.

Participants will be recruited in areas around Groningen, Amsterdam, Eindhoven, and the province of Noord Holland. Both Dutch and English-speaking people are welcome, so if you are interested and have drowsiness or mood problems, send an email to lichtstudie@www.chronoatwork.com. You will then receive more information, a consent form and a link to the selection questionnaire. The sooner you apply, the sooner you can be scheduled in for November or December 2023.
